Weekly Roundup: Ways a New Season Brings Changes Worth Embracing

Greetings Reader,

September 20th is always an exciting time for me. It's a reminder that there are 90 days until my birthday and 98 days until the last major holiday season of the year from a corporate/business/retail/marketing standpoint. These last 90 days are a reminder to push hard so you're set up for your definition of success!

At the time of this message, I am on a plane, beginning my journey. I've officially left Tulsa and am heading to Tampa, my second home, where I spent middle school and part of high school. I'll be there for a month. Despite moving 14 times in my life, this time feels different. It's our first time without a set plan or destination, just going with the flow. For the first time, my mom and I will adapt as we explore various places.

Have you ever procrastinated because something holds sentimental value? That was me when packing up the kitchen, the place where I spent most of my time. I don't enjoy cooking, but I love eating, so I'm all about electronic appliances. As I packed, I kept thinking about the uneaten food we had to dispose of, knowing there are people who need it more than my neighbors or me. A few money mindset blocks had to be overcome to make this travel possible.

On August 20, 2021, my parents and I visited Greenwood in Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the first time. Prior to, they asked where I wanted to go on a road trip out west, and inspired by the 100-year commemoration of the race riots at the original Black Wall Street I saw on social media, I chose Tulsa. It was an unforgettable experience. There are many milestones I'll detail in a YouTube video once I’m settled.

Grief for the loss of an unborn child, survivor's remorse, and even the grief over a relationship that has ended. Grief is valid for the person that you used to be as well.
